All Right, my town has adopted a smoking ban for all public facilities, with only a small number exceptions. I am so done with my rights being taken away, I am sick. I can’t fathom the reason non-smokers have such a sharp opinion on what we smokers are doing. Everyone knows that smoking is unsafe, but I made a conscience decision when I began smoking, observant of the fact it was harmful. Just because non-smokers want me to stop, won’t mean that it will happen. Smoking in restaurants has been a allowance, but most restaurants include a designated smoking room. If non-smokers don’t want to inhale the smoke, don’t sit in the smoking room, you are not forced to sit in the smoking section. And as well as the jobholers of these bars that state they are distressed by second hand smoke, I don’t believe it. I was employeed in the restaurant business for more than 10 years, and I know that almost all of thepeople I worked with were smokers. Doing business with the public, always, initiates you to puff. Personally, I have never overheard any non-smoking co-worker ever complain about smoking while at work in the smoking room. Putting a smoking prohibition in restaurants and bars, ultimately will only save me money, because I won’t dine out after the first of the year.
