Merely Days till the Smoking Prohibition

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

All Right, my town has adopted a smoking ban for all public facilities, with only a small number exceptions. I am so done with my rights being taken away, I am sick. I can’t fathom the reason non-smokers have such a sharp opinion on what we smokers are doing. Everyone knows that smoking is unsafe, but I made a conscience decision when I began smoking, observant of the fact it was harmful. Just because non-smokers want me to stop, won’t mean that it will happen. Smoking in restaurants has been a allowance, but most restaurants include a designated smoking room. If non-smokers don’t want to inhale the smoke, don’t sit in the smoking room, you are not forced to sit in the smoking section. And as well as the jobholers of these bars that state they are distressed by second hand smoke, I don’t believe it. I was employeed in the restaurant business for more than 10 years, and I know that almost all of thepeople I worked with were smokers.  Doing business with the public, always, initiates you to puff.  Personally, I have never overheard any non-smoking co-worker ever complain about smoking while at work in the smoking room. Putting a smoking prohibition in restaurants and bars, ultimately will only save me money, because I won’t dine out after the first of the year.

All I need for the holiday: Stogies!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I have concluded this year to beg for simple presents that my wife can pick out competently for me. My number one gift, as always, is my favored stogie from al-capone-cigars.com. She doesn’t even have to leave our home, she can go on the internet (I have all my favorites sites saved) and enter the order there. As far as other gifts, she can go to the nearest shop and choose a gift. She mentions every holiday that I am totally complicated man to get gifts for. But we have been together for about 15 years! And if she doesn’t know the things I admire by now, I quit. I continuously mention every year, “I want smokes”, I enjoy 1 or 2 in a day, and that adds up. I have a humidor for holding my smokes, “what’s that for?” my love inquires. Well my beloved, it’s to keep my smokes fresh. So, if you get me cigars for christmas I can keep them in there for a few months and remove one when I am wanting to savor one. Although I have to say, I got blessed with luck last year, my love gave me a lighter that was ingraved with my initials. The year before, she gave me a fishing pole, because I said I wanted to go fishing again someday. Well, I went fishing only once in two years, but guess what, I still puff 1-2 smokes every day. So what do I want for the holiday this year? I want Stogies, and all else would just be an added pleasure.
